Katlyn Lawson, LAC

Licensed Associate Counselor

Who am I?

I grew up in Southern California. I moved to Arizona as a teenager. I graduated from GCU with my Bachelors in Psychology and then my Masters in Professional Counseling. In April I received my associate license, got married, and became a mom to 5 children.

What brought me to this field?

Growing up, I dealt with a lot of trauma. I also had the unfortunate experience of having a genetic serotonin imbalance which caused me a lot of anxiety and depression. From the time I was about 10 until my early adult years, I had a very hard time learning to handle my anxiety and depression. That paired with the societal pressures of being a teenager and hormones caused me to struggle a lot. I knew in my late teens that I wanted to help other people work through similar experiences. I wanted to help young people navigate the pressures of the world in a healthy way.
